Evolutionary vs revolutionary depends on everyone criteria. What is
revolutionary for one must be absolutely not interest for other.

IMO, D300 has some new features that places it in a totaly new class body:
- the new sensor of type CMOS allowing ISO 6400, while both D100 and D200
tops at 1600
- the LiveView LCD based preview.
- the 51 points AF system.
The fact D300 shares the same body with D200 and looks almost identical is
not a reason to label it cosmetic and evolution. It helps Nikon to keep the
crown of best small sensor DSLR, else the new Canon 40D could be a serios
D200 rival. Now with D300 it has no chance, Thom Hogan places D300 in the
Canon 5D class even if it is not FF.
