Well, for those under the rock, hopefully, the new pricing was useful.
Phil, yeah, getting that CFO pre-approval. I know that one. She's
like, have you made enough to pay off the last couple (D2X/H)? I
said, yes but then she asked - are they broken? I said, no. Hmm...
Anyway, wouldn't it be amazing if they could get the "x" version at
18-24MP for the same differential as the D1H/X or D2H/X? If so, it
would only be roughly US$1000 to US$1500 difference (D1/D2
respectively). At least a full frame, Nikon body for maybe US$2000
less than the competition?
I'm not really concerned if it's not as fast or has as many MP as
Canon. I'm just hoping that it focuses properly and has good dynamic
range - IQ is good. As memory goes down in price and they crank out
more of these FF sensors and get the manufacturing kinks out, they
should be able to get good yields on the sensors and electronics to
bring the price down on both regular D3 and "D3x".
And then they'll stick it in some D400-sized body.
