Hi folks

I am not a professional photographer, so for me the versatility and
price point of the nikon 18-200 was great, particularly for family
outings with the young kids when switching lenses is not that easy
for me.

But I hate to bud in again with my question, but what do I do with
the dust in the rear element of my lens is this considered a warranty
issue (<1 year old). Do I send it to nikon to have it cleaned? as it
is affecting image quality now

thanks for your help

Al

Al, your 'warrantee' card, that should have come in that lovely
bronze-gold box that your lens came in, should indicate the location
of Nikon Service Centers in your area. Otherwise, you can get that
information from Nikon (USA) website.

Whether or not the 'dust invasion' is covered by the Nikon warrantee
will depend on whether or not the condition can be traced to a
mechanical defect in the lens.

If the 'dust' condition is effecting your images then, most
definitely, you will want to get it attended to. In any case, regular
shop-cleaning of lenses is always good advice.

Good luck!

i don't think it will.
not here in italy, at least.

perhaps nikon usa will consider it a defect and will clean at no cost,
but if you lived in italy i bet you would have paid for repair.
