I suggest you go back & read Mr. Rockwell again, he clearly states
that he has some sort of prototype 55-200, has never evaluated a
production unit.
With today's cameras having varying lens requirements it is
important that we know what camera model you will be mounting this lens
on before making any recommendations. Regarding the cost factor, used
lenses present a way to aquire a better quality lens at an affordable
price in many areas. Is there a trustworthy used lens market in your
area of the world, if so, you might want to be considering purchase of
a clean used lens.
