You are missing quite a number of lenses. Any Nikon AF-S or AF-I lens will AF on the D40/D40X, all DX lenses are AF-S with the sole exception of the 10.5mm Fisheye (which doesn't much need AF anyways)

Nikon AF-S lenses that you've missed (From memory, I might have missed 1 or 2):

18-55 DX (You probably already have this)
18-70 f3.5-4.5 DX
12-24 f4 DX
14-24 f2.8G (available November)
17-35 f2.8
17-55 f2.8 DX
24-70 f2.8G (Available November)
24-120 VR G
24-85 G
28-70 f2.8
105mm f2.8G VR Micro
200mm f2G VR
300mm f4
400mm f2.8G VR
600mm f4G VR

All current Sigma HSM lenses are also fully compatible. There's quite a selection of them including the 10-20, 12-24, 30/1.4, 150 Macro, 70-200 f2.8 and others.
