All,
I've been following this thread with some trepidation as has
Chris. I generally defer to Chris, as list owner, to step in when the
bounds of civility have been exceeded. I will however, after being
asked, comment, because I have great respect for ALL the members of
this wonderful groupcomment, & because I have seen a number of great
groups self destruct over similiar subjects in the last 5 or 6 years &
don't want to see it happen here.
I think we all have to count to ten & recognize that we each
have a right his or her opinion, however it varies from ours. What may
be of overiding importance to some may be at the other end of the
spectrum for others & we should all have to accept that, however
reluctantly.
I would prefer remain neutral and will only offer this up
this thought. I recognize the significance that many of us place upon
the 'NIKON' brand, I also recognize that there have been side by side
disections of some consumer Nikon lenses with aftermarket counterparts
& the results have been pretty conclusive, but not proven as an
absolute. I think that any furthur discussion of this subject at this
juncture will just result in one of us getting hot under the collar &
posting something that we'll later regret, so, in all respect, I'd
request that we drop the subject & move on.
