Thanks, Chris and everyone else for the reply on the Canon
500D. This is a great option I hadn’;t known about before. I am shooting
with a D200 and I have an 80-200mm 2.8 and the 18-200mm 3.5/5.6 VR, but not a longer
telezoom. I had been thinking about the 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6D as a good
possibility for my next lens, so I very much appreciate all the comments.
