Nikon 70-200 VR IF

I am using this lense on a D200 and have had a problem for a couple of months.  Every once in a while the AF just will not engage.  I have been able to get it to work again by either turning the camera on and off, or removing and replacing the lense.  Well today I can't get it to come back at all.  Tried everything.  Has anyone else had this problem?  If so, how did you resolve it?

If you don't get any ideas here, you might want to post your
problem on the Nikon Repair group site. With a lens that new & costly
I'd want Mikon to take a look at it for me. Here's the repair sites

Oh, one more thing.  The 70-200 still works fine on my F5 and other lenses work fine on my D200.

Jan have you tried cleaning CPU contacts on the lens? In many cases
of AF Failure i have read about on these Groups that seemed to do the
trick
