The shelf life is comparible to most other batteries
as long as you don't remove the "tab"...Once removed,
it starts a chemical reaction fueled by air & you
can't stop it by recovering the hole...The "Wein" zonc
air cells are like hearing aid batteries (I've been
wearing hearing aids since 1956) & went from mercury
to silver to zinc air...The zinc air are almost
identical to the old mercury in all aspects & are
better than silver in their characteristics. The
difference between the Wein & hearing aid cells is
that the Wein only have 2 air holes whereas the
hearing aid batteries have 4 holes. This makes the
Wein last longer. You can improve the lasting power of
hearing aid cells by applying clear nail polish to 2
of the holes...I use 675 hearing aid batteries in
adapters I bought from Jon Goodman (Interslice on
eBay-sells resealing camera foam) to use in my old
Gossen Luna Pro meters & several older cameras that
took the 625 cells...
