Anyone interested in setting this up to see how it works?

Rumor was sometime back that this was mostly repackaged nx.
Not sure
it that is so or not. There are several projects out there
already
doing all this with freenx. A search of their maillist
would likely
yield some productive links.

I would love to see a demo of freenx or something of the
like. I'll
even donate hardware toward the demo.

I'll commit to doing something on FreeNX, not on the
original link.

March might be doable, April I could commit to for sure.
The only
piece that might be interesting to add would be a M$ box to
show
how one can run a Linux desktop or app with the NX client.

This is fantastic stuff! I tunnel an ssh connection through
2 hops,
to a machine where an FreeNX server is installed, start the
NX
client on a machine here (home) connected to the ssh tunnel.
 I can
display and use very well a full KDE desktop over dialup.
Way cool!
It beats the pants off of *any* VNC variants, which I've
used also. VNC
isn't fun over dialup.

Do you want me to get five boxes, like PI's?

What am I going to do with five boxes? Don't think that I
have time
in my schedule to get that many machines installed with
something
and then haul it all to MT. Now if someone wants to do the
install,
get them there, and then establish enough of a network for
all this have
at it. Installing the NX client and getting it connected is
trivial.

At best the demo I was thinking of is likely my laptop
connecting to a
remote FreeNX server. The possibility of someone bringing
in a M$ box,
or laptop as suggested before would still be open.

Also I'm not likely to setup account and give out access for
five boxes
to my server. It could happen I suppose. This would mean
that a server
would also have to be setup and configured, connected. All
doable I'm
sure, perhaps not within my personal time constraints.
