We just wanted everyone to know that we have updated some areas of the Nvu web site.

There is a new Wiki: http://nvu.wikispaces.com/
A new Chat Room: http://www.nvu.com/chat.php
A new licensing page: http://www.nvu.com/licensing.php

If you have some time and would like to help out we could really use some help organizing and adding to the Wiki.

Thank you for all your support!

Good news! These are promising developments.

One question: Who are the Nvu Team? Put another way, would
you please
introduce yourselves?

thanks much,
-Craig

Hi Craig,

My name is Kendall and I work for Linspire. As you guys probably know.... Linspire is one of the sponsors of the Nvu project. Some of the employees here help out whenever they can by answering support emails, updating the web site, managing mailing lists, etc... We are trying to get more tools in place to help the community be able to participate more actively and get involved in the project.

Stay tuned for more to come........

Kendall

Hi Gus,

Thanks for the generous offer. One of the best ways to help out right now is to support Nvu users in the Forums and write documentation for the Wiki. As other tools are put in place there will be additional opportunities to help out with the project.

We'll post more information on this in the future.

Best regards,

Dismiss the earlier message. It was sent accidentally because of my very sensitive trackpad.

Now for the topic of the email:

Dear Nvu Team,

First of all congratulations on the new additions on the website. I would really like to help, but there are a few questions that came up when I read this email.

1. Why is this email coming from gmail.com domain name? As far as I know, Linspire owns the nvu.com domain name and also sets aside resources and people for Nvu development. I would expect the email from an address like supportnvu.com or the right domain i.e. nvudev.org as the email deals with development for Nvu (even though if it is its website).

2. Why do we need a chatroom on irc.ircstorm.net? We already have irc chat facility with irc.mozilla.org irc servers. Discussions related to Nvu can be done by joining #composer on irc.mozilla.org. If needed a new #nvu room could also be requested. But why "new irc servers"?

3. And why does the Nvu Team create a new wiki on wikispaces.com? There are google advertisements there too! If the Nvu Team (real one) is low on finances that it needs to put google ads on their wiki (not hosted on their own website) there are other ways to do it. Ask on this list, I can provide the hosting space and I also know that there are several people on this list who would like to contribute financially if need be.

Either please explain the doubts expressed above or do not send emails to this list acting as "The Nvu Team". This email has really confused me and I can imagine how confused others might be too. So please clear the air by clearning away the queries posted above.

Thanks,
Nvu User Team ;)
