Thread: adding paragraphs to an empty document

adding paragraphs to an empty document

Hi,

After creating an empty document using

        TextDocument text = new TextDocument();

as an example, I would like to add two paragraphs: one with
normal text,
and the second with italic.

I'm not sure what method is the best. Is one supposed to use
getBody(),
then getNode() and manipulate the XML directly or is there a
better
method?

Thanks,

- M

Hi Miklos,

These API are not yet available in odf4j. While you can
certainly use
getNode() and manipulate the XML directly this is not the
way it is
intended to work in the future.

I would be interesting to hear how you as a user of the API
would expect
the API for adding content to look like.

Bests,
Lars

Okay, then at least I know that I haven't missed something.

Well, I'm not sure, maybe it would be good to have a look at
the API of
aodl (the C# lib) or ooolib (the perl one)?

Yes, AODL ooolib as well as the existing OpenOffice.org UNO
API is what
I am already looking at for reusable patterns. Just wanted
to know
whether there are any other things that should be
considered...

Cheers,
Lars
