| odf4j - Questions offer of help |

Been kicking around the idea of writing a ODF reader/writer
myself when I
came across this project. Which is great in that now I don't
have to start
from scratch My
ultimate goal is a little more than just a reader ( I
want a full swing component for reading/writing ODF Text
files). So
initially to help myself understand the current code base I
thought I would
work on unit tests for the current code base ( doesn't seem
to much there
yet) and Java docs/ Wiki docs. So I have a few questions
about the best way
to go about this that will be the most beneficial for the
project verses
just helping me learn the code base.
1) Looks like the wiki needs some additional pages for
things like
dependencies ( Xerces Which version? ). Should these
dependencies be in CVS
like Junit is ? Can I add pages to the wiki ( I do have a
account already).
Do you have a naming convention for naming the wiki pages?
2) Do you mind if I use JUnit 4.1 verses the Junit-3.8.1.jar
that is
included in CVS? Are there any particular pieces of code
that are in
desperate need of unit tests? Or do the current test cases
need to be
expanded to cover a particular use case that is not covered
now? Or do I
just start looking and adding them as I go?
3) Seeing that this project is hosted on openoffice.org do I
need to sign a
SUN contributor agreement for this project?
4) Preferred method of submitting changes (For now Java doc
and unit tests)?
Well I think that is enough to get me started for now that
is.

Hi Richard,
All your questions will surely be answered by the odf4j
project leads here.
However, I would like to inform you that we have the weekly
IRC meeting on
#odftoolkit at 07:30 GMT tomorrow. So if you could come over
for the
meeting, it would be great for you and use.

I'll try to make it. But another question Is that 07:30 am
or pm? My bet is
pm which would make it 2:30 pm where I'm at (which means I'm
at work but can
still make some time for it). Also which IRC server?
Thanks
Richard

Hate to say it but 07:30am GMT is 2:30 am where I'm at. Not
sure I will be
up at that time that is a little late for me :( Or I should
say a little
early

Never mind. I shall take up your issue with the odf4j
developers in today's
meeting.

Richard,
Yesterday, Lars was busy, so I could not discuss your
proposal yesterday.
Besides, we are possibly going to have major restructuring
of the existing
concept/code, so please keep an eye on the discussions on
this list to keep
yourself updated.
