I have read through the documentation several times now and
actually been able make most of the application work but I an running into two
major issues. The first is getting the NTOP agent to actually write to the
database and be able to query against this information. The second is how do I
build a remote sensor to push data back to the server/database itself. I
installed a base install of etch and I added the agent package as well as snort
and ntop. Followed the agent configuration steps in the manual and I can see snort
is connecting to the remote SQL server but I don’t seem to be able to
connect to the agent/sensor with the server. I did define it in the server
console gui but the sensor status indicates that only the local host sensor is
communicating.
Is there any other documentation than the debian install
guide which would give me some direction on these issues?
