What about the Intel Macs?
I am tempted to buy a Mac Book and I want to make sure that I can use
OCaml with no troubles
Or perhaps I should stick to a regular laptop with Ubuntu...

I didn't tried it, but I doubt that you could get problems.

I doubt that this will be necessary.

I could ask other who already have an Intel based Mac,
but don't think that they would have problems to install
OCaml there.

I can ask them; if they have time, they maybe could compile
OCaml there.

I compile ocaml on a core2 macbook running mac os x 10.4.8 with no
problems. I did have to make one tiny change to the configure script, which
is documented in the bug tracker but alas I don't have the reference right
now.

I've got OCaml installed via Fink on my Core Duo Macbook, with exactly
zero hiccups.
