Unfortunately you cannot. If you use 3.09 then you need to use the
revised syntax 8-(. If however you can move to 3.10 (and I don't know
how stable that is, maybe someone can enlighten you on that) then I
suggest you start using the new camlp4 for various reasons:
1. Nicolas is actively working on camlp4 and has provided much help (see
the developer's list set up by Martin Jambon and the main list)
2. The new camlp4 provides "filters" which significantly simplify the
code because you need not work on the AST directly (once again see the
developer's list I referred to above).
3. It will save you time and effort porting the stuff.
That being said you must be aware that 3.10's release date has yet to be
set. One of the reasons being due to camlp4.
