"ocaml_beginners"::[] Does ocamlnet work on Mac? Various problems...

Has anyone had success using ocamlnet 2.2.7's nexplex (under godi) on
Mac OS X (Tiger)?

Details below, but I'm not yet terribly interested in debugging my
experience (my patience has run out after 2 days straight), but I'd
like to know if ocamlnet 2's netplex has ever worked for anyone on Mac.

the 'pop' example in ocamlnet works, but everything else I've
investigated has had various errors.

When I run netplex, I get various Unix/networking errors. Example:

% cd /opt/ocaml/doc/godi-ocamlnet/examples/nethttpd
% make
% # edit netplex.cfg to change /etc/mime.types to /etc/httpd/mime.types
% ocamldebug netplex -conf netplex.cfg

Netplex Catastrophic Error: Unix.Unix_error(49, "", "")
[Mon Jun 4 02:10:52 2007] [nethttpd] [crit] Exception in workload
manager, function adjust: Unix.Unix_error(49, "", "")

Once, with fiddling in config or code, I forget, I got this error:

[Mon Jun 4 01:52:12 2007] [netplex.controller] [crit] Exception in
workload manager, function adjust: Unix.Unix_error(15, "socketpair";, "")

(repeated infinitely)

I tried copy-pasting code from the documentation
http://ocamlnet.sourceforge.net/manual-2.2/Netplex_intro.html
which gives these errors:

Netplex Catastrophic Error: Unix.Unix_error(49, "", "")
Netplex Catastrophic Error: Unable to send log message - exception
Unix.Unix_error(3, "select", "")
Log message is: poll: Exception Rpc.Rpc_server(0)

I have a full-time job that's *not* ocaml-related... is there any hope
for me to use ocamlnet/netplex on Mac, or should I start over on Linux
(Ubuntu)? Will my experience be better in Linux?

This has nothing to do with Godi. Search for ocamlnet in the archives
of caml-list, I recommend the fa.caml Google Group.
