OK, thansk for that hint, but it didn't help.
Have now 0caml 3.09.2 and the problem did not vanish :(
==============================
first:~/Desktop/logo-ppmread oliver$ ocamlc -v
The Objective Caml compiler, version 3.09.2
Standard library directory: /usr/local/lib/ocaml
first:~/Desktop/logo-ppmread oliver$ rm *.cm* ; ocamlcp
ppm-read.ml
rm: *.cm*: No such file or directory
File "/tmp/camlpp46bcbf", line 1, characters
64-72:
Syntax error
first:~/Desktop/logo-ppmread oliver$
==============================
So I think this is worth a Bug-report...
Ciao,
Oliver
