Hello,
I tried using the configuration given in the README, and it
didn't
really work.
The result I get from X -configure, along with some
modifications to
account
for the monitor, resolution, keyboard, and color depth,
works
*beautifully*,
except for this one thing (the screen blanks out on exit).
The default configuration (the one present at
/etc/X11/xorg.conf before
I run
X -configure and replace it) works okay - the screen does
not blank out
on
exit. However, it only allows 8-bit color depth. One other
difference
I've noted
between the default configuration and the one I'm using is
that the
text in the
tty terminal turns blue right before entering X11, whereas
with my
configuration,
the text just disappears before entering X11.
Here's my dmesg :

.ch/~alexyeh/dmesg
After doing some more reading, I've found that someone else,
using
netbsd, has had the same problem:
ht
tp://forums.bsdnexus.com/viewtopic.php?pid=12612
I haven't tried the suggested vesa driver workaround, but I
tried the
same rotation technique with the default
configuration file and my custom configuration file, and it
did not
work; I had to reset the computer.
Also, I don't have a matrox graphics card, so that's not an
option
Regards,
Rob
