OpenCms 7 Beta 1 available (in CVS)

Hi all,

Development of OpenCms has reached another milestone as the
source code of
the first Beta version of OpenCms 7 is now available in the
public CVS. 

Compared to the OpenCms 7 alpha release, this Beta release
features the
completed and fully functional improved user management with
organizational
units and roles, as well as full support for WebDAV access
to the OpenCms
VFS. Full details can be found in the file history.txt in
CVS.

We are now in the process of optimizing the internal data
structures and
doing some polishing on various parts of the GUI.

In general, the feature list and roadmap for OpenCms 7
remains unchanged
compared to the last Alpha release. Please see the
announcement of the 7
Alpha 1 release for the full roadmap / feature list.

Hi Piero!

It seems you have checked out the latest dev version instead
of the 
beta1 release, since the publishmanager node in the
opencms-system.xml 
was introduced later (after the beta1 release) in place of
the 
publishhistory node.
so please be sure to check out the build_7beta_1 tag and not
the latest 
version of the dev_7_0 branch which may be a little bit
unstable.

Hi Michael,

thanks for your help!
I think you are right and it was the development branch that
produced the xml 
error. But after trying it with the beta I get another
error:

Caused by: org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: FEHLER: Spalte
�group_ou� 
existiert nicht.

Is it possible that there is an issue with the sql scripts
for postgres? I 
checked the db and there is no group_ou column.

Yes, I was able to install opencms 6.2.3. But I did not
deploy it to a 
production environment yet. I will post about my experience
with SJSWS7 and 
OpenCms when I get it to work.
