 Actually it's not deprecated, but depends on the runtime
environment
your extension needs. If the Object Inspector works fine
with OOo 2.0.3
(and earlier 2.x.y), then .uno.pkg is the format of choice.
If it
requires at least OO.o 2.0.4, then you must use .oxt.
