Hi there,

the problem got solved.

Obviously my test environment was not set up cleanly, such
that the 
error has not occurred on every version of Java, which it
should have.

The problem was moving a Java class to the Java extension
directory, 
where it did not belong to. Hence, the references to OOo
classes could 
not get resolved. Resolution was to move that class to 
OOo/program/classes, now everything works as expected.
