If you are trying to replicate this problem, make sure you
are installing OOo
2.2 RC1 on a fresh machine. Even if you uninstall and
reinstall, there are
registry entries (and their respective permissions) that
remain. If you want to
mimic my scenario below, elevate a user to the
Administrators Group, THEN do a
brand new install of OOo 2.2 RC1 and choose to "install
for all users", THEN
remove the user account from the Administrators Group
(leaving him in the plain
Users Group). Again, the problem affects WinXP SP2 using
local user accounts --
not AD.
