Huh, the patch is really useless. It was very old patch even
for 1.1.x. I wonder
why someone ported it for 2.0 without checking. I should
have double check it.
Regarding your question, we already create language specific
packages that can
be installed in parallel, so more localizations might be
installed at once. Then
we have one package with the common stuff that is shared by
all localizations. I
thought that without the patch, all copies of the files
would end in the common
package. I was wrong.
I agree that there is not a good solution at this time. I am
looking forward to
see a nice rework in OOo-3.x
