<-> Aug 16th) |

Hi NL-QA team,
The localisation21 CWS which has the latest l10n for 2.3
will be
available at Aug 2nd.
So please plan TCM l10n testing from Aug 3rd to Aug 16th.
Although this testing period is 2 weeks, if you find
serious
l10n isseus in the first week (by Aug 9th), there will be
higher
possibility for fixing them for 2.3 release.
When localisation21 binaries will be ready, the
announcement
will happen here.
Thanks,
Naoyuki

Hi Naoyuki, QA team, MacOSX porting team and Pavel Janik!
*if possible* I'd like to provide cws build for MacOSX
AQUA/X11 PPC/TIGER
as usual for TCM 10n testing for 2.3 for MacOSX users.
Unfortunately, I'll be away for summer vacation.
and whole build takes two or three days...
Anyway, if the build has been stated,
http:
//eis.services.openoffice.org/EIS2/cws.ShowCWS?logon=true&am
p;Id=5371&Path=SRC680%2Flocalisation21
please let me know.
But, this cws is just planned. the milestone is not
determined as well.
So I cannot start build for MacOSX users
Hope this will be based on SRC680_m222 or later
(cws unomacli64 is integrated otherwise OOo doesn't run on
PPC machines).
Currently we have serious
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=79308
build problem so I cannot automated.
Pavel, if you know something more, please let me know.

Would it be possible that Eric provides the build with the
unfinished
OSX-Aqua ? Since the QA only relates to l10n I suppose
working from
OSX-X11 or OSX-Aqua would not make a difference ?

May be we should add new test cases for the new
functionalities like
database report, charts, ... ?
Will we work on this in the mean time, or do you have test
cases at hand
? I can help if needed, just tell me.
Kind regards
Sophie

Hi Sophie,
I do not have any test cases for new functionalities for
now.
If you can help to make them, it's really great!
Thanks,
Naoyuki

I'll be able to work on it tomorrow afternoon.
Would people here help me in providing a list of the tests
they think
are needed or relevant for l10n QA ?
I'm proposing :
- Database reports
- Extensions (online)
- Online update
- Smart tags
...
Thanks
Kind regards - Sophie

Hi Sophie,
what test cases do you mean?
The general functionality of new features are tested before
integration
of these features. You will find test case specifications or
links to
automated test cases in the feature list for OOo2.3 [1]. So
it isn't
needed to write new test cases.
Currently the test cases in TCM are only for areas, where
translated
strings change the functionality or where native speakers
have to check
if the defaults for their languages are correct (e.g. date
format).
Testing of general functionality isn't and shouldn't be part
of TCM.
Here I think we need a new tooling, or we have to link
complex test
cases in TCM.
So what do you mean with new test cases? Testing general
functionality
or L10N related issues for the new feature?

Sorry, I'll be on holidays for two weeks starting saturday,
and this
will be difficult

For unofficial builds, ok, no problem to provide you a
build, but for QA
it is not possible.

Eric

Hum, not sure you read this thread ;) I mean TCM L10n like
in the subject.

Only to translate them if you want some feed back for non
English
speaking communities. Ans some test case are not present in
your list,
may be they are not needed ?

Yes, and from what I know, their is 5287 new words in the
GUI. My
question was: are the corresponding tests present in the TCM
? otherwise
why should we do TCM test case ?

Ha, I'm quite surprised as we are doing those tests for
several releases
now.
What do you mean by new tooling ? If I want my team to test
the FR
release, I need to upload the manual tests on TCM (like the
one Validity
described following your link for example) to be able to
track the
results on the plateform our group is testing on. Do you
mean it is
useless and won't bring anything ?
>

I mean l10n QA, but I'm now puzzled by the fact that new
functionnalities shouldn't go on TCM. And I find it sometime
very
difficult to separate the l10n part to the functionnality
part in a bug.
Kind regards
Sophie
