| L10n QA : UI change areas |

|
2007-07-27 11:32:09 |
Hi all,
Here are the area of the UI where I found (from my
understanding ;) at
least more than one string that have been modified or new
dialog created :
- New chart module
- Extensions : install + updates
- Java installer under Linux (and Solaris if I remember
well)
- Smart Tags
- Database connectivity
- Form control properties
- Filter names
- several new locales added
- Starmath
- GETPIVOTDATA and some data pilot dialog
- Macro security + digital signature
- Stylist in Writer
- Custom adress block in mailing wizard
- Euroconverter
- Crash report
- msi installer
- and "Web preview" in File menu
Hope that will help you to find them and don't hesitate to
add what I've
missed
Kind regards
Sophie

Report Designer (or Report Builder?). Has it's own menus,
toolbars and
several new windows (should be checked for consistency).

As I'm not sure, if the most recent Report Designer
extension can be
installed in the CWS-Builds (it cannot be installed in
ooo-dev builds),
I put a slightly changed version here:
ftp://ftp.ooodev.org/pub/qa/ooo-dev_reportdesign.oxt
This is the most recent extension (v 0.5.0) but has no
information about
a required OOo-Build. (The original one canot be installed
on *OOo-Dev*
builds, because it requires *OpenOffice.org* 2.3)
.

I've been able to install it under m223. The link Frank gave
on the list
is here :
http://dba.openoffice.org/servlets/ProjectDocumentList
the last on the
list, it's based on m220.
May be the name has been modified by the dba project.
Kind regards

Well .. not a OOo-dev bild provided by Sun I'd guess. So -
yes the
extension will work with any build that is branded as
"OpenOffice.org
2.3". But it is likely to fail with other brands.
(I just tried - cannot install on OOo-dev 2.3.0 m220)

In fact, Smart Tags won't be activated for 2.3, but for 2.4.
So we don't
have to (and won't be able to any way) test it for that
release.

DO WE HAVE THE NEW FEATURES INTEGRATED IN THE RELEASE SANITY
SCENARIO
ON TCM YET? I KNOW WE SHOULD FOCUS ON THE NEW FEATURES, BUT
I DON'T
KNOW WHERE TO START.

No :-(

Germanophone team is using a wiki-page as a guide:
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/De:2.3_TCM_Test#Tes
t_der_neuen_.2F_ge.C3.A4nderten_Applikationsbereiche
the list of application areas has been derived from Sophie's
mail:
http://qa.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?l
istName=dev&msgNo=9183
I did not list all areas Sophie mentioned, as I could not
find a
relevant issue / spec. So .. this far from being perfect,
but the best
we can do atm.
hope that helps.

Thanks for the guide.
As already mentioned here, smart tags won't do for 2.3.

We (FR team) won't use TCM too. We will work with the list
and the wiki
too. I check also with the .sdf file.
Kind regards
