The trouble is that e-mail accounts are two-a-penny these
days, and no-one 
checks the validity of the data you enter when you set up an
account, I guess 
there's no really effective solution to the problem if we
want to maintain 
openness. Even the IP from which the postings were made
could be (and 
probably was) hijacked.
