I first noticed this in calc, but it seems to affect writer
as well.

I have no problem saving in OO.org native formats, but when
I try to save as any
non-open format, the app loses focus and nothing happens.
Here's what happens.

1. Choose File > Save as
2. Choose a non-open format (such as .xls or .doc).
3. Click OK.
The app loses focus...nothing happens. When I do this at
home, I get a
Yes/No dialog suggesting that I use an open format.
4. If I hit ESC, I'm returned to the Save As dialog.

I thought at first this was an effect of upgrading to 2.2.1
(from 2.0.4), but I
went back to 2.0.4 and still see the issue.

Please let me know if there is more information I can
provide (and how to
provide it).

Hi

That seems a settings trouble. Maybe you could do this. Go
to:

Tools > Options > Load/Save > General

and uncheck the check box "Warn when not saving in
OpenDocument or default format".

Hope this helps
regards

Carlos

Thanks, Carlos. A great workaround, I can save in foreign
formats again.

I'm leaving this as Worksforme, because it seems there's a
deeper issue with the
warning dialog, but at least it can be remedied.

Hi,

hitting the ESC key while the Warning dialog is open is like
pressing the No
Button. It brings you back to the save as Dialog as you have
decided to not save
in the foreign format. This is intentional and therefore
this Issue is invalid.
