the SUMIF function does not correctly compare the value of a
field if it
contains a ( or a )

The bug happens in CALC when using the SUMIF function, with
the criteria that
includes "()" marks in them, when these are
clearly text.
Example:
1. Open a new spreadsheet in CALC
2. Within Sheet1, enter the following:
A1: Joe (123)
B1: 100
A5: =SUMIF(A1;A1;B1)
A6: =SUMIF(A1;"Joe (123)";B1)

The bug has been confirmed on windows XP and Kubuntu with
Calc 2.3.0
The bug does not happen on ubuntu
It works correctly in excel on XP

A calc sheet with the problem will be attached

Hi,

the problem is the same as in Issue 83254. Regular
Expressions. Please follow
the instructions in Issue 83254 if you really want this
feature switched off.
It's global for all Calc documents.
