Hi,

not a bug of Calc but from Excel. A1 in your example is
indeed Text as I've
found out opening the file with Excel and clicking on the
Smart Tag which jumps
direct into my view as I've loaded the file.

You can't calculate with text and Calc will not calculate
with text.

So this Issue is invalid as Calc is strict and conforms to
basic rules.
