Thread: Using omconfig to reconfigure PERC 5/i vdisk

Using omconfig to reconfigure PERC 5/i vdisk

Hi.

[I've sent this to the list a few days ago, it doesn't
seem to have
gotten through. Sorry for the dupe otherwise]

I now have two brand new SAS disks that I would like to
bring into an
existing vdisk. Currently it consists of five adisks in a
RAID-5
configuration and I would just like to add the new disks. I
guess I
should do something along the lines of:

omconfig storage vdisk action=reconfigure controller=0
vdisk=0 raid=r5
size=?? adisk=0:0:0,0:0:1,0:0:2,0:0:3,0:0:4,0:0:5,0:0:6

where adisk 5 and 6 are the new disks.
Do I need to initilize the adisks first?
If I don't specify raid or size will those set to sensible
defaults?

I'm guessing this will take a while and make disk access
slow, but is
there any danger of using the disk while rebuilding?

Regards,
Pontus

for now this is certainly sufficient. Once the
implementation is
finished, you can pack the smarttag library into an
extension, which can
be installed using the package manager.

Yes, the smarttag manager can use the service factory to
create and
maintain instances of each implementation.
