Hi,
please have a look at
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=64886
"a plus / minus sign next to each heading in
Navigator"
The current Navigator shows all the headings in the document
by default. There's a setting in the Navigator that defines
the 'number of levels' of headings that are shown so that
you can limit the number of visible headings.
The patch makes it possible to collapse/expand the headings.
jianhuajiao, the creator of the patch and I disagree about
the way it should work.
The current state of the patch starts with showing the
headings of level 1. If you want to see more you have to
expand all entries level by level. The heading where the
cursor is located is made visible automatically.
>From my point of view it should initially show all
headings that meet the 'number of headings' setting
mentioned above. Changes to this setting should always
expand/collapse the related headings automatically. If this
setting is not touched then the manual expand/collapse state
defines the visible headings.
What do you think about it?
Regards,
Oliver

I'd also prefer to have the headings automatically
expanded/collapsed
according to the 'number of headings' value.

Hi,
Clicking [+], at a Level 1 Heading should expand all
headings according
to the 'number of headings' value. Doing such, would save
several clicks
for exploring down the hierarchy.
Cheers,
Christian

Heading A (Level 1)

Heading B (Level 2)

Heading C (Level 3)

Heading F (Level 2)

I would prefer that the Navigator initially shows the number
of levels
that the user has set (in 'number of levels').
Interesting aspect is that user will have two ways to
control what is
shown in the header section of the Navigator.

Yes, This specification is cool!
And I need understand how to save different status.
is that means at firstly place, when you click [+], it
would expand all sub
nodes of level one
and after that, using the status they just have?
is the below is correct?
[-] Headings
[+] Heading A
[+] Heading E
Tables
Text frames
to
[-] Headings
[-] Heading A
[-] Heading B
Heading C
Heading D
[+] Heading E
Tables
Text frames
then
[-] Headings
[-] Heading A
[+] Heading B
[+] Heading E
Tables
Text frames
and then
[-] Headings
[+] Heading A
[+] Heading E
Tables
Text frames
finally
[-] Headings
[-] Heading A
[+] Heading B
[+] Heading E
Tables
Text frames
