-------
When trying to add the # symbol in any OO application with
Vista, it shows as a
/, no matter what font is chosen. Wordpad and other basic
programs are able to
show this symbol, so it is specific to OO.

Also showing a slash - "/" - on Solaris.
Are you sure that you are not typing in OOo with a different
keyboard mapping?
(a different language?)

I do think that this is the issue, as I also have the
accented e when typing
the /, but my keyboard layout is set to English (Canada).
Also, the issue
seems to have temporarily corrected itself. At this moment,
the issue is not
occurring, but I will watch it over the next few days.

Have a look here:
http://support
.microsoft.com/kb/306993
"
To show the Language bar (using Classic view in Control
Panel):
1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click
Regional and Language
Options.
2. On the Languages tab, under Text services and input
languages, click Details.
3. Under Preferences, click Language Bar.
4. Select the Show the Language bar on the desktop check
box.
"
Then you should see when the language toggles between
applications.
For now, closing as "WORKSFORME"
