o Create a Writer document.
o select File|Save
o enter a file name
o check 'Save with password'
o click OK
...at this point user is prompted to enter a password,
twice. Nowhere in the
dialog box does it indicate the password must be five
characters or more. At
first my impression was the feature was broken then I
discovered the password
length requirement by accident.
Requested change:
Modify dialog box to include label indicating minimum
password length.
Preferred change:
Modify dialog box as above AND allow passwords as short as
one character with
global setting so user may specify minimum password length.
Sure one character, or even five, doesn't make for a good
password. However for
average end users I expect five is too many characters and
deters them from
using the feature if they even figure out (because the
dialog box doesn't
indicated minimum required characters) how to. For those
that know better than
to use a short password they won't even if they're able to.
