That is because Patrick and company have figured out the
problem with Apple's
Java and have built in a fix for this that they will NOT
share with OpenOffice.org
for purely political reasons (and this is well within the
LGPL as Patrick's code is
released under the GPL and the two are NOT compatible.)

Yuck! I have received permission to test Florian's driver
and will do with
the release version of OOo 2.2 for the Mac. I will also
test this with
the Aqua version when it becomes available.
