Hy Gents,

From the info on the opensc list, I conclude that it is possible to use the kobil midentity under Linux̷0;

Which token did you use, and which software release?

Currently I have a identify XXL with non-install-datasafe, that seems to work with XP.
However, with linux I only see a simulated cdrom-drive.
lsusb shows me 0d46:4081, with a HID pointing to a cdrom with a udf-filesystem.

I performed same trial with a Aladdin etoken:

  • Openct-control init
  • Openct-control status
  • Pkcs11-tool -t --login
  • Opensc-tool -a
  • Opensc-tool --serial
  • Opensc-tool -f

With aladdin it produces results, with kobil not.

The software I currently use, is SuSE-10.2.
It ships with:
Openct 0.6.9-18
Opensc 0.11.1-18
Pcsc-ccid 1.0.1-24
Pcsc-etoken 0.3.2-34
Pcsc-lite 1.3.2-17

Adding the usb-identity to /etc/openct.conf didn't help either

Any suggestions?
(could it be that the "non-install" version can only be used under M$?)

Hans

I think you have to activate the smart card part.
Try the attached software.

Doing the switch automatically is on my TODO list of my CCID
driver.
But I did not find the motivation. And nobody requested it

If the activation software works for you I will try to find
some time
to add it to the CCID driver.

Bye,
