use of gemplus javacard

I would be very thankful if anyone could enlighten me about
this smartcard thing.

Here is things I know:
I have smartcard which has certificates on it.
It works out of box in windows with gemplus drivers
installed.
Gemplus icon shows me:
Gemplus USB Smart Card Reader 0. Card Name: GXPPRo-R3.x STD
PTS T=1,
Certificates loaded: 2
>From this I conclude that it is GemXpresso JavaCard.

What are my path to make use of these certificates on it
under linux?

As I understand, it is possible to upload muscle applet on
javacard
and then use it with muscle or opensc.

Am I right thinking that opensource world supports only work
with
muscle applet on JavaCards?

How could I find out what applet it has on it and make it
work -
make use of certificates that reside on it?
