I am hoping to get some advice from the list here in regards
to
porting drivers for a custom USB token over the Linux. The
token was
part of a pilot batch not sold on the general market. It is
a
JavaCard and uses the standard PC/SC and PKCS#11 interfaces.
 However
it has proprietary windows drivers for both the Token and
the virtual
smartcard reader used to talk to the token. I have no
access to any
source code or any specs whatsoever and would like to avoid
having to
pay the makers of the token more $ to port their drivers
over to
Linux.

If this USB token is CCID compliant would I just be able to
use the
generic CCID drivers? If so how can I tell if the token is
CCID
compliant? The OpenCT overview also mentioned something
about PC/SC
Lite being able to directly use windows drivers in the
ifdhandler
format. I was wondering how to determine if my drivers are
in the
ifdhandler format and if so how then to use them with PC/SC
lite.
Also, I would appreciate any advice on what if anything I
need to do
to replicate the virtual reader and the USB interface.

I think part of my problem is my unfamiliarity with the
whole Linux
smartcard driver environment. There aren't many people
where I work
and I am having to sort of put on many hats and jump right
in so I
apologize if I am lacking in some basic understanding.

Thanks in advance.

Where have you seen that?

What is a virtual reader in your case?
