| OHIP reflects OSU's involvement in hostiing and
supporting the collaborative environment required for the Open HealthIT
initiative discussed at the OHF EclipseCon meetings. OSU is in the process
of setting up an OHIP web site.
"Ground laying" work for Open HealthIT is underway and
details of the organizational and operational structure for Open HealthIT
will be announced in the near future.

global collaborative effort to develop open source software solutions for
the health information community. This effort, called the Open
Health Information Project (OHIP) is an extension of the Eclipse Open
Healthcare Framework (OHF). The Eclipse OHF works to improve the levels
of interoperability between applications and systems within and
across healthcare organizations and regions. The project will be housed at
Oregon State University's Open Source Lab (OSL). The collaboration includes
the Mayo Clinic as well as several open source companies, including
