1) Make sure nothing else is using the com port (eg.
ActiveSync)

2) Make sure hyperterminal has the correct settings (115200
bps, 8, N, 1, and 
no flow control or handshaking).

3) Try pressing enter a few times to see if the prompt comes
up.
