ok guys the usb is not pluged in made sure of the only connection is the pda through the serial port com 1 up graded the boot loader to 2.21.12 so far so good, then re downloaded opie flashed the image across to tha pda, when completed typed the boot command the same speel comes up as before and the screen on the pda changes from crl to a black screen with tux in the corner with booting please wait but after a few seconds the screen will go all liney and change back to crl, yet in hyper terminal it will keep saying Uncompressing Linux........................................... done, booting the
kernel. this stays in a loop and goes no where. what the next call its really annoying me and i need to get this pda to work thanks for any help and sugestions many thanks rob dark

Are you sure you did not have the USB connected?

That's a slightly old version, current is 2.21.12, and it does work.
