Hi,
I believe I may have sent this to the
wrong address last time.
Since sending it I have done further
reading and now suspect I will have to reflash my ROM. How is that done when I
have no backup ROM image? Methods posted to “remove Linux̶1; don’t
work for me, as I do not have the CF sleeve, so only have the boot loader
without the Linux installation.
Is there no way I can just upgrade 2002 to
2003, as I don’t mind the bootloader staying in place.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

upgrades
Hi,
I have bought a used 3870 to replace my own aging version.
The new one has your revision 2.19.70 already loaded, which was a nice surprise
as I intend to try Linux when I find the time.
In the meanwhile, I want to load my backup file to the new
unit, but before I can do that I need to upgrade it from PocketPC2002 to 2003.
But when upgrading, I can’t get the “Remote USB updateR21;
window to appear. I have tried simultaneously pressing Buttons 2 & 4 &
Power while resetting with stylus (recommended procedure) many times, and it
just boots through the iPAQ splash screen into the Today screen without
bringing up the “Remote USB UpdateR21; window. Since I have
successfully run this procedure on 2 other iPAQs I assume this has something to
do with the presence of the bootloader. Can you help?
I got this email address from the bootloader splash screen.
