Tables are really common in our specs. So, it would really
speed up
creating these. Anyhow we'll see if people work with the
given tools.

Makes sense. The biggest issue, from my point of view, is it
is not
possible to search within ODF/ODS-document on
specs.openoffice.org.
The wiki has somehow the same problem. Using the wiki search
delivers
too many results which aren't useful.
If somebody has a solution for that, please let me know.
