As this year's ODTUG Conference Chairman, I have a secret
to share with those of you who haven't yet registered for
our annual event:
We are going to have our best conference EVER!
Seriously! Our attendance numbers are up. People are
buzzing about the content, the events and the networking
opportunities. The conference program is stronger than ever
before, with the kinds of sessions you've been asking us
for: Forms and Reports, Java, PL/SQL, development
methodologies, professional growth and especially
**NON-Oracle** development tools. If that's not enough, we
even beefed up our hands-on training sessions to bring you
the best subjects from the best trainers available.
However, this year our conference is going to surprise you
by bringing you three "special features" :
1) Fusion. We've all been hearing about Fusion, both the
middleware and the approach. In our planning for this
conference, we consciously sought out experts in Fusion to
explain it to the rest of the world (i.e., us). There's a
reason why our conference tagline this year is
"Clarifying the developer's changing universe."
You need to know about Fusion -- from the developer's
perspective -- and the place to learn about it is at ODTUG
Kaleidoscope '06.
2) Web Architecture Symposium. For those who came to New
Orleans last year, you know that we changed things around a
bit in our symposium series. Well, we tweaked it yet again,
and this year I think we'll have our best and most useful
symposium yet. Ever wonder which tool or technique would be
the best for the job at hand? Thick or thin client? Want
to learn what non-Oracle options you have? Expand your
knowledge about ways to develop applications? Have you
considered PHP, ColdFusion, Java, Struts, Ajax or other
alternative tools? If you answered yes to any of those
questions, then this symposium is for you.
3) BI Summit. The BI Summit is almost a conference within a
conference. When we first considered this twist, we were
excited, but the folks at Oracle are even more excited than
we are! They are planning a knock-out series of sessions
that focus on Business Intelligence tools and technologies
in way that we have never covered before. And they want to
hear directly from you about what you think. If you have
any interest in data warehousing or BI, I'd recommend you
get on board with this while you can.
All in all, I am excited and proud to say that Kaleidoscope
'06 is going to be a blockbuster. If you're looking for a
place to meet and interact with other developers and experts
in our field, then you simply must plan on attending. You
won't get a better bang for the buck in Oracle
technologies.
Remember, the extension of the Early Bird Deadline ends
TODAY!
To celebrate the launch of our new conference web site, we
extended the early bird registration date to May 8th, so you
can still register, but you must do so TODAY. To find out
about the conference and register, go to:

I look forward to seeing you all in Washington DC this June!
Sincerely,
