Orca getting brltty to work with orca

I installed fedora core 6 yesterday, I pulled brltty 3.8dev
from subversion, and updated to the latest orca build from
the speakupmodified rpms.

I generated a /etc/brlttyapi.key file, and chmod'ed it to
777.

I told orca to enable braille support, but I still get no
response from my braille display when orca is running.
I am using an alva satellite on a usb port.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
