orca's freezes reviewing terminal.

Hi all

In the latest CVS I have observed that Orca freezes when I
try to flat review the screen in some apps, most in terminal
(gnome-terminal) and in gconf-editor application.

I am using the latest Ubuntu Dapper Drake update.

Regards,

Javier.

Very odd. I've checked this and cannot reproduce it on my
Ubuntu Dapper
Drake box which is perhaps a week or so old. :-( I'm
currently
tracking down another problem which requires me to keep my
box in its
current state, however, so I cannot update to the latest at
this time.

I'm curious if anyone else is seeing the same problem?

Will

Hi again

Well, I have updated today my Ubuntu and tested it again.
Now I seems localized the problem. But I can not determine
if this is a Orca bug or another component.

The problem is at input, when I type some UTF-8 text,
example "á" "ñ" "ó"
and then try to flat review the screen. The system freezes.
I have typed some letters "a" "w"
etc and then flat review and the problem doesn't appear.

But the rare thing here is that this only occur in
gnome-terminal. Tested same in a gedit window and no
problems.
I would like someone can reproduce this. I hope to give
more information tomorrow.
How can I enable all debug in Orca?

Regards,

Javier.

Add these two lines to your ~/.orca/user-settings.py file,
making sure
there are no other lines doing something similar:

orca.debug.debugLevel = orca.debug.LEVEL_ALL
orca.debug.debugFile = open('debug.out', 'w', 0)

BTW, Mike recently discovered/filed a bug:

http
://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=343133

I'm wondering if this might be related. I've not had a
chance to dig
into it yet, but I did notice that it seems as though things
come back
to life if you kill gnome-terminal.
