Hello,
I have finished the implementation of voice properties in
the Speech
Dispatcher backend. I have submitted a patch already, but
for those who
don't want to wait before it gets to Orca SVN, I'm also
sending the
updated version of the backend to the list.
This version adds the following functionality to the SD
backend:
* Voice properties for all speech commands are now respected
according
to your settings in Orca preferences. Different voices can
now be used
for Default, Uppercase and Hyperlink.
* The default punctuation level is set according to Orca
settings. Only
three levels are currently supported, so SOME and MOST both
map to
Speech Dispatchers SOME. Note: The SD espeak driver
currently ignores
punctuation settings, so you'd have to use some other synth
to take the
advantage of it.
* The commands for increasing/decreasing speech rate/pitch
were
reimplemented to modify the default voice properties and
announce the
change.
You can install it by simply replacing the file of the same
name in your
orca installation (such as
/usr/local/lib/python2.4/site-packages/orca/speechdispatcher
factory.py).
You need the latest SVN Orca and Speech Dispatcher 0.6.2.
Hope this will be useful!
Kindest regards, Tomas
