Hey all, is there any way to have Orca announce what wasn't
found in
the dictionary, when doing a spell-check in openoffice
writer? I was
demoing Orca for my girlfriend yesterday, and since she's a
medical
transcriptionist, she was especially interested in the word

processor. As always, thanks in advance for the help.

lost speech after idle time in gnome-terminal
user name

Hi,
When I leave my computer in gnome-terminal with orca
speaking for a time
without doing anything on it, speech stops.
Is there a key with which I can restore speech again?
I do not know if a screen saver is coming up or not.
When pressing enter or ctrl-alt-tab, it just beeps or say
nothing.
Any ideas?
Was this a known problem which might be fixed in the latest
gnome/orca?
This is gnome as far as my Debian box wants to update it and
the svn Orca.
Regards, Willem

Hi Willem,
to deactivate your screen saver open
systems/settings/screensaver and
deactivate the screen-saver.
Did you set up power management, so that your machine goes
standby after a
certain time? Screen-readers don't like this very much - as
I know from
Windows - but maybe also in Linux.
