I had a similar issue when trying to build atk on ubuntu.
Gave me a
different package name, but still complained about a
dependency issue. Did
you build at-spi first? I think the order is significant.
There was a
previous message on this a while ago, but I think the order
is at-spi, atk,
then gail, then orca. On ubuntu, you do a apt-get build-dep
<packagename>
first before actually doing an install for that package.
