Hi Marco,
"screen not in text mode" is displayed once brltty
recognizes that the
screen has been switched from text/console mode to graphics
mode. Once
Orca starts, this message should go away and be replaced
with something
representing the focus, for example on the "Preferences
button" of the
Orca Screen Reader/Magnifier Frame. If this does not happen,
then either
Orca's braille support is disabled (check the preferences,
Braille tab),
or brlapi was not found/installed properly for Orca to
communicate with
brltty.
Hth,
Marco
